Links Between Play and Dominance and Attachment Dimensions of Dog-Human Relationships

This study explores the links between play behavior and dominance and attachment dimensions of dog-human relationships. The authors observe and record the play behavior of dogs and their owners and analyze the data to determine the frequency and types of play behavior exhibited by the dogs, as well as the dominance and attachment dimensions of the dog-human relationships. The study finds that play behavior is positively correlated with attachment dimensions of the dog-human relationship, but not with dominance dimensions. The study also finds that the frequency and types of play behavior exhibited by the dogs are influenced by a variety of factors, including the age and sex of the dog, the sex of the owner, and the duration of the relationship. The study concludes that play behavior is an important component of dog-human relationships, and that further research is needed to better understand the factors that influence this behavior.
